Houston continues to expand rapidly to the west along the I-10 corridor. As a result, affordable, quality development sites are very difficult to find. The Park of Katy Mills, with its ability to accommodate mixed uses, offers developers and users affordable, well-located, fully developed land directly in the path of Houston’s westward expansion.
The I-10 West/Energy Corridor is West Houston’s most dynamic office submarket attracting companies such as BP America, Conoco Phillips, Exxon Mobil, Mustang Engineering, Shell Oil, Cabot Oil & Gas, and Global Santa Fe. KBR will soon join this list of distinguished companies with the announcement of plans to build a new 900,000 sf headquarters facility at the intersection of 1-10 and the Grand Parkway. In addition to these high-profile companies in this submarket, Foster Wheeler recently leased approximately 325,000 sf and Pathfinder Energy purchased 30 acres for a new facility.
Not only does this submarket host high-profile companies such as those listed above, it also includes the recent addition of many fine medical institutions such as Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital with its 125 beds and 125,000 sf professional office building, Texas Children’s Hospital which recently announced a new $200 million campus, and St. Luke’s Hospital which purchased 20 acres for a new 250 bed acute care facility as well as a 200,000 sf medical office building.
